Fold It
>> Saturday, 3 April 2010
Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying the Easter weekend so far. We’re having typical April showers here; heavy rain this morning and now the sun is out. It’s still a bit cold though so no trip to the beach like we did Easter last year! And I have a rotten cold too at the moment – you know when you head feels all foggy and your sinuses ache as if you’ve been hit in the face with a shovel? I need to visit our local Hobbycraft this afternoon to get some more watercolour paper so maybe a bit of crafty retail therapy will work better than the asprin.
I haven’t made a tri-fold card for ages so I had to take part in this weeks Just Magnolia challenge which is ‘fold it’. There are some good instructions to make one of these cards on the Splitcoast Stampers website but I changed it slightly to create more narrow strips and I’m quite pleased with the outcome.
Here’s a picture from a slightly different angle;
The papers are a mixture of Papermania (brown and green) and Bo Bunny. Tilda is coloured with distress inks (colours listed at the bottom of this post) and I added a Magnolia bow, punched flowers with MM button brad centres and a Cuttlebug corner. The stamped sentiments are both Papermania.
I edged all the pink and green papers with distress inks (managed to forget the brown pieces!).
Distress colours used:
Dress: spun sugar & worn lipstick, Blouse & Boots: pumice stone, Tulips: worn lipstick, aged mahogany, bundled sage, Hair: vintage photo, Skin: tattered rose, worn lipstick.
I’m also going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Roses on Paper – Punch It, Spoon Full of Sugar – Shapes Galore, Papertake Weekly – Anything Goes, Simon Says Stamp – It’s so Distressing, Stamp Something – Pink Something.
Enjoy the rest of the long weekend and I’ll be back soon with a Wild Rose Studio DT card.
